So you would like to have more of those adorable little pugs? For what purpose? Would you keep all the puppies or are you going to sell them eventually? Breeding pugs is a highly important thing and no one should ever take it so lightly.

The American Kennel Club (AFC) has set some rules and guidelines on the proper breeding of dogs. More than probably they have a specific guideline for breeding pugs. Before you push through with the breeding process, perhaps it would be best if you consult the AFC first.

If you are planning to be a professional breeder and start a business with it, you must understand that nowadays, it is not very easy to get a reputation as a good and responsible breeder. Why is that? Every day, there is almost in the news a report about puppy mills and irresponsible dog breeders who don’t maintain a clean kennel for their dogs. These breeders don’t even provide adequate and nutritious food for their dogs including the puppies. All they are after is selling the puppies. This is the reason why a lot of dog buyers are more careful now and they really make thorough research first before they decide to even visit a dog breeder.

So perhaps one of the first things you should do is to build up a reputation for yourself as a responsible and trusted dog breeder. Join your local kennel club and be an active member. From there you can start networking with the right kind of people who can help you with your business and also in spreading the word about what a good breeder you are.
