My wife had always wanted to have another dog. We already have a golden retriever, but this time she wanted a small dog. A pug do be exact. I was actually a bit surprised when she told me about it because I thought pugs where quite ugly dogs.
“No they’re not!” she said. “Pugs are actually very cute and adorable.”
“Come on. Look at their face. It’s so black and wrinkled,” I said.
“That face is what actually makes them adorable,” she replied.
It was not because I don’t want a pug, which I won’t mind actually, but I was quite familiar with the fact that there are some known pugs and pug puppy medical problems. It would be hard enough to raise a regular dog. But how about a dog that has medical problems?
I did some research about those pugs and pug puppy medical problems and enumerated them to her.

Pug Puppy
1. slipped stifles or patellar luxation
Some pugs are known to have their patella or kneecap slipped out of position, causing the dog to limp.
2. Pugs have very narrow nostrils which adversely affect their breathing. This is why pugs can easily suffocate especially when the climate is very humid.
3. Pug puppies are susceptible to demodectic mange.
4. Pugs lack an actual protruding snout which makes their eyes prone to accidents.
I told my wife a few more medical problems common in pugs but she just shrugged them all off. She was determined to have one.
“It doesn’t matter. I still want a pug and I will take very good care of it,” my wife said.
