You probably have been fascinated with this cute, little breed of dog called a pug. Have you seen the science fiction movie, “Men In Black”? There is a pug in that film named Frank who talks and acts like a human. In fact, he even got to wear a suit in the movie’s sequel. Many people have found how adorable that pug was as it walked and interacted with Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith.

Now enough about Hollywood. Let us talk more about pugs. What is so amazing about this type of dog is that in spite of its black and wrinkled face, which, let us admit is quite ugly, the pug is actually a very adorable and cute little dog.

1. The word pug came from Old English ‘pugg’ which means ‘playful little devil’. Don’t worry. It was not meant to be derogatory. It was actually an affectionate term people use to refer to these adorable little dogs.

2. The pug is one of the oldest known breeds of dogs. It is believed to have originated even before 400 B.C. in Asia and was a favorite breed among the royalties in China.

3. There are four popular colors of pugs. These are fawn, apricot, silver, and black.

4. Although pugs are known to be stubborn, they are actually very sociable dogs and wouldn’t shy away from anything that is fun and playful.

5. Pugs are highly adaptable dogs and can live in almost any type of household. But these dogs usually strive in apartments with small number of people.
